About

Hjørdis Linn-Blanford

I am a New York City based stage manager /arts administrator with over ten years’ experience supporting bold, risk taking theater, dance and performance artists.

My personal history provides a first-hand appreciation of artists’ essentials as I facilitate project timelines to final production. The granddaughter of a sculptor and the daughter of visual artists – the smell of modelling clay and oil paint permeate my childhood memories – playing in downtown Manhattan open loft spaces filled with artists, dancers and musicians. My sister and I ran with other art kids through a forest of adult legs at gallery openings and sat on cushions in nontraditional venues – together experiencing jazz, dance, theater, and performance. Over the years I witnessed great talent disregarded, steering me towards a behind the scenes and arts management career.

Whether in a rehearsal room, stage, booth, or office – I am dedicated to generating safe, open, creative environments for artists and staff. My philosophy is simply to follow the director’s lead while building strong communication of the team: designers and builders, dreamers and doers.

As your trusted Consigliere, I am devoted to making your artistic vision a reality.
